Frequently asked questions about water damage

Does rice really not help?

No. Rice dries the outside at best; inside, corrosion simply continues. The only good approach: switch it off and have the device opened and cleaned quickly.

What are the odds my device can be saved?

It depends on the liquid (fresh water is kinder than seawater or soft drinks), how long the contact lasted and how fast you act. The honest answer: it's always an attempt — after the inspection you'll know where you stand.

My device still works. Should I come by anyway?

Preferably, yes. Corrosion works slowly: a device that works today can still fail weeks later. An inspection and cleaning reduces that risk.
