Who we are
Volt Repair Shop (Kevin De Decker), Diestsestraat 178, 3000 Leuven, Belgium, VAT BE0728531861, is the controller for the processing described here. Contact us at info@voltrepair.be or +32 493 88 41 57.
Data we process
When you request a repair, contact us or hand in a device, we only process information needed for that relationship:
- your name and contact details;
- device information, a serial number where needed, visible damage and the problem described;
- diagnosis, your approval, work performed, parts used and repair communications;
- invoice and payment information where needed for payment or accounting;
- access information you temporarily provide where technically necessary for testing;
- technical website data processed by Netlify in server and security logs.
Purposes and legal bases
- Request and contract: answering your question, preparing a diagnosis and quote, recording approval and performing the repair. Legal basis: steps before and performance of a contract.
- Administration: handling payments, invoices and legally required accounting. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligations.
- Security and disputes: preventing misuse, securing the form and handling complaints or legal claims. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure service and in establishing, exercising or defending rights.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it or make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Do you have to provide it?
You do not have to use the online form; you can call or visit instead. Without a way to contact you and sufficient device information, we may be unable to handle a request or repair. Information legally required for an invoice must be accurate.
Data on your device
A device may contain private or sensitive information. We do not open or view that content except where technically necessary for the agreed diagnosis, test or data recovery. Only provide access that is needed and make a backup first where possible. Temporary access codes are not used for other purposes.
Retention
A request that does not lead to a repair is kept only as long as needed for follow-up and normally no longer than twelve months. Repair records are kept for as long as reasonably needed for service, guarantee, complaints and establishing or defending rights. Invoices and accounting records are kept for the statutory period, generally ten years. Temporary access codes are deleted when the technical work is complete. Relevant data may be kept longer while a dispute is pending.
Recipients and service providers
We only share data where necessary with categories of providers such as website and form hosting, e-mail, accounting, payment and parts suppliers, or where legally required by a public authority. They receive only what is needed for their task. This website and form run on Netlify (Netlify, Inc.); form submissions are delivered to us through Netlify. See Netlify's privacy policy.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some technical providers, including Netlify, operate internationally. Where personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area, this is based on a legally permitted transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards. Netlify describes its safeguards in its privacy and data-processing information.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not itself place analytics or marketing cookies. Netlify Web Analytics derives aggregate statistics from CDN server logs and does not load analytics JavaScript in your browser. This may include page views, popular pages and 404 errors. We do not use it for advertising, cross-site tracking or visitor profiles.
Your rights
Depending on the processing, you can request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to processing. Where processing would rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Legal retention duties and other people's rights may limit some requests. E-mail info@voltrepair.be; we may request reasonable information to verify your identity.
Complaints
Please contact us first with any privacy question. You also have the right to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.
Changes
If our processes or providers change, we update this policy and the date above. We communicate significant changes where appropriate.
